🚫Lunch Delivery Reminder

Food deliveries (DoorDash, Uber Eats, SkipTheDishes) are not permitted at LTJH.

This is due to supervision concerns, as students cannot leave lunch areas to meet drivers, and deliveries create disruptions to the school day.

🚭Vaping and Smoking Reminder

We ask families to reinforce with their child that vaping and smoking are not permitted anywhere on school property, inside or outside.

This is both a school rule and a legal requirement. If a student is found vaping or in possession of a vape:

• The device will be confiscated
• Parents or guardians will be contacted for pickup
• The student will face suspension
• In some cases, this may also involve Halifax Regional Police under the Smoke Free Act

🥤Drinks at School

Open drinks are not permitted in classrooms. This includes items such as pop, energy drinks, iced caps, or other open beverages. Students are encouraged to bring water in a spill proof bottle. Teachers will ask students to dispose of open drinks before entering class.

🧼Litter on School Property and in the Neighbourhood

We are asking families to please speak with students about the importance of keeping our school property and surrounding neighbourhood clean. We continue to see concerns with garbage, food wrappers, drink containers, and school lunch packaging being left outside. Community members have also raised concerns and, in some cases, have cleaned up after students. This is not acceptable, and it is being addressed at school. Students are expected to use garbage and recycling bins at all times. School lunch containers must remain inside and should not be taken outdoors. Students who are seen littering may be required to clean up the area. We appreciate your support in reinforcing that students are part of both a school community and a neighbourhood community, and that keeping shared spaces clean is a shared responsibility.

🦁Now Hiring Lunch Monitors

We are hiring paid Lunch Monitors for daily supervision.

• Monday to Friday, 12:10 pm to 1:10 pm
• $16.75 per hour plus 4% vacation pay
