Here is a look at the week ahead!
RWM6
Grade 6 Students will be writing their Provincial Assessment (RWM6) on the following dates:
- Wednesday October 9th and Thursday October 10th (Math)
Make up days will take place Friday October 4th and October Wednesday October 16th
Students Leaving Early
If your child is planning to leave early for an appointment or sporting event please contact Bev by phone or bring in a note to the office to let us know so we can have an accurate account of who is in/out of the building.
Volleyball Tryouts this week
Girls volleyball tryouts will start Monday, please sign up online on Mr Hulshof’s website, and fill out the google form. Tryouts will go from 3:10pm -5:10pm.

Dance
We will be having our first school dance on Thursday, October 17 from 6:30 – 8:00 for our LT students. Doors will open at 6:30. A DJ with a light and sound system will be hosting the dance.
We are hoping for all families / students will take advantage of the advance purchase option and limit the ‘pay at the door’ option. SchoolCash Online (Online closes October 17th at noon)
Dance expectations:
- This is a school function, and all school rules will be followed.
- Students must be in attendance the day of the dance to attend the dance
- A canteen with snacks and drinks will be open for cash purchases. All food and drink will be consumed in the cafeteria.
- All outerwear, backpacks, and cell phones will be checked at the beginning of the dance and will be kept in a secure location.
- Once a student has arrived for the dance, they are expected to remain until 8:00.
- Accessible areas will be the main floor cafeteria, gymnasium, and main floor washrooms. All other areas and all lockers will not be available.
The cost is $8.
Bus Evacuation Drills
As part of our Emergency Management Plan (EMP), in addition to our Fire Drills, Hold and Secure and Lockdown Drills, we will have Southland Bus Company provide students with Bus Evacuation Drills. Our evacuation drill will take place during the week of October 15th to the 18th.
